Detailed Solution
If pressre is increased on ice ⇌water equilibrium, more water will form from ice. The slope of melting point curve of water is negative. Density of water is lesser than ice.In general densitysolid > densityliquid and so melting of solids is generally accompained by increase in volume. Also the slope of melting point curve for other substances is positive. Therefore on increasing pressure, more solid will form liquid. Alternatively when ice melts to water, volume decreases. Pressure increases equllibrium shifts to that side where volume decreases.
