Detailed Solution
Isobutanal has α-hydrogen atom. Acetaldehyde, acetone and methyl ketones having -CH3CO group undergo haloform reaction and this reaction is used as a test of CH3CO– group. Due to absence of CH3CO−group isobutanal does not give iodoform test.
