$(I) Ex - C (graphite) + O_{2} (g) \to {CO}_{2} (g); Δ_{f}^{o} H = ΔH$
Standard enthalpy values of graphite & $O_{2} (g)$ are assumed to be zero.
$\begin{array}{l} ∴ Δ_{f}^{o} H = H_{P}^{o} - H_{R}^{o} \\ = H_{P}^{o} (∵ H_{R}^{o} = 0) \end{array}$
