Question

When an aqueous solution of lithium chloride is electrolysed using graphite electrodes

Easy
Solution

Ionization of aq.LiCl :

LiC{l_{aq}} \rightleftharpoons Li_{aq}^ + + Cl_{aq}^ -

At  Cathode

H2O is reduced.2{H_2}O + 2{e^ - } \rightleftharpoons {H_2} + 2O{H^ - }

At Anode

Cl- is Oxidised.2C{l^ - } - 2{e^ - } \rightleftharpoons C{l_2}

After the electrolysis is over cell is left with LiOH and solution becomes alkaline. PH increases.
