Odorous molecules mix with air by diffusion. Since gases are ideal, there are no intermolecular forces between them. The driving force that causes the gases to mix can certainly not be any redistribution of the energy of the universe. The driving force is entirely due to the increase in entropy as the gases mix or an ideal gas expands into a large volume.
