Which method is preferred for the preparation of n-propyl chloride from benzene?

wurtz-Fittig method is preferred since in this case, no rearranged product is formed. As far as other products, viz. n-hexane and biphenyl is concerned, these can be easily removed from n-propyl benzene by distillation since their boiling points differ very much from each other.
