Solution

LiAlH4 convents 3°alkyl halide into alkene thus (2) is incorrect. The reaction is so, because the hydride ion acts as strong base. tertiary carbon is difficult to be attacked ,due to steric effect,hence elimination is favoured. As follows
${(C H_{3})}_{3} C C l \overset{L i A l H_{4}}{\to} {(C H_{3})}_{2} C = C H_{2}$
