When a lower valent impurity is added to a  higher valent semi conductor it  is called P -type doping.A 14th group element having valency of 4 should be doped with 13th group element with valency 3 to give p-type semiconductor.Silicon should be doped with Group 13 element -Boron to give a p-type semiconductor.
