Let the A.P. be $a 1, a 2, . . .$ suppose
$a_{m} = \frac{22}{7}$ and $a_{n} = π$
If $d$ is the common difference of the A.P., then
$\begin{array}{l} (m - n) d = a_{m} - a_{n} = \frac{22}{7} - π \\ \Rightarrow d = \frac{1}{m - n} (\frac{22}{7} - π) \end{array}$
which is a irrational number as $π$ is an irrational number.
