The projection of the line segment AB¯ on the yz-plane is  y2y12+z2z12=160

The projection of the line segment AB¯on the zx-plane is  z2z12+x2x12=153

The projection of the line segment AB¯on the xy-plane is x2x12+y2y12=5

It implies that 

x2x12+y2y12+z2z12=169

Hence,z2z12=16925=144

Apply square root on both sidesz2z1=12 , this is the length of the projection ofAB¯  on z- axis.
