Solution

Let (x₁, y₁) be the image of the point P(3, 5) with respect to the line y = x. Then, x₁ = 5, y₁ = 3.
$∴$ Q = (5, 3)
Since the image of the point Q(5, 3) w.r.t. the line y = 0 is (a, b).
$∴$ a = 5 and b = –3
$∴$ (a, b) = (5, –3)
