Solution

We know that, on the y-axis, x = 0 and z = 0
Thus, foot of perpendicular from P on y-axis is A (0,4, 0).
$\begin{matrix} ∴ PA = \sqrt{(0 - 3)^{2} + (4 - 4)^{2} + (0 - 5)^{2}} \\ = \sqrt{9 + 0 + 25} = \sqrt{34} \end{matrix}$
