Question

P is a point on x-axis, Q is a point on y-axis. Both are equidistant from the points (7, 6) and (3, 4). Distance between P and Q is

Moderate
Solution

Let the coordinates of P be (x, 0) and of Qbe (0,y), then
(x7)2+62=(x3)2+42x=15/2
and 72+(y6)2=32+(y4)2y=15
So coordinates of P are (15/2, 0) and of Q are (0, 15)
     PQ=1522+(15)2=1552
