Solution

Let P is the point on x-axis which divides the line segment joining points in the ratio $λ : 1,$ then , $x = \frac{- 5 λ + 3}{λ + 1}, y = \frac{6 λ - 4}{λ + 1}$
but as it is know for point on x-axis, then its y-coordinate $= 0$

$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{6 λ - 4}{λ + 1} = 0 \Rightarrow λ = \frac{2}{3}$
