A body when projected vertically upward from ground, strikes the ground after a time of 9 sec. The same body, when projected with same speed, at an angle of 600 with horizontal, from the base of an inclined plane having inclination of 300 with horizontal, it will strike the inclined plane after a time of approximately.

Solution

For vertical projection , $\frac{2 u}{10} = 9 \Rightarrow u = 45 m / s$
For projection on inclined plane , $T_{i} = \frac{2 u \sin (α - β)}{g \cos β} = \frac{2 \times 45 \times \sin (60^{0} - 30^{0})}{10 \cos 30^{0}} s = 5.196 s ≃ 5 s$
