The apparent weight of a mass in a lift moving up is 90 kgwt when its weight in the stationary lift is 60 kgwt If the same lift now moves up with same retardation, the weight of the mass will be ………if g=10 $m s^{- 2}$

Solution

$R_{U P} = 900 = 60 (g + a)$
a = 5 $m s^{- 2}$

$∴ R^{1} = m g - m a$
          =600-60 x 5
