Here $R = \frac{u^{2}}{g}$ Let elevation angle be $θ$ , then
$\frac{R}{2} = \frac{u^{2} \sin 2 θ}{g}$
$\Rightarrow \sin 2 θ = \frac{1}{2} \Rightarrow 2 θ = 30 ° \Rightarrow θ = 15 °$
