Solution

Let thrown out weight = w and upthrust = F_u
Then $W - F_{u} = (\frac{W}{g}) f$
and $F_{u} - (W - w) = (\frac{W - w}{g}) f$
By solving, $w = \frac{2 Wf}{g + f}$
