A bar magnet made of steel has a magnetic moment of 1.2 $A m^{2}$ and a mass of $4.0 \times 10^{- 3} k g$ . If the density of steel is $12 .0 \times 10^{3} k g / m^{3}$ . The intensity of magnetization of the magnet is $__\times 10^{6} {Am}^{-1}$

The volume of the bar magnet $V = \frac{mass}{density} = \frac{4 \times 10^{- 3}}{12 \times 10^{3}} = \frac{1}{3} \times 10^{- 6} m^{3}$
The intensity of magnetization is
$∴ I = \frac{M}{V} = \frac{1.2 A m^{2}}{\frac{1}{3} \times 10^{- 6} m^{3}} = 1.2 \times 3 \times 10^{6} A / m = 3.6 \times 10^{6}$
$\Rightarrow I = 3.6 \times 10^{6} A / m^{- 1}$
