A block of mass 3 kg which is on a smooth inclined plane making an angle of 30o to the horizontal is connected by a cord passing over a light frictionless pulley to a second block of mass 2 kg hanging vertically. What is the  acceleration of each block and what is the tension of the cord?

a = \left[ {\frac{{{m_2} - {m_1}\sin \theta }}{{{m_1} + {m_2}}}} \right]g = \frac{{2 - 3\sin {{30}^0}}}{5} \times 9.8
= \frac{{2 - 3/2}}{5} \times 9.8
= \frac{1}{{10}} \times 9.8 = 0.98\,\,m/{s^2}
\therefore T = \frac{{{m_1}{m_2}g(1 + \sin \theta )}}{{{m_1} + {m_2}}}
= \frac{{2 \times 3 \times 9.8\left( {1 + \frac{1}{2}} \right)}}{5} = 17.6N
