A body of mass 10 kg is dropped to the ground from a height of 10 metres. The work done (in J) by the gravitational force is $(g = 9 .8 m / \sec^{2})$

Solution

As the body moves in the direction of force therefore work done by gravitational force will be positive.
$W = Fs = mgh = 10 \times 9 .8 \times 10 = 980 J$
