$\large {v_1} = \left( {\frac{{{m_1} - {m_2}}}{{{m_1} + {m_2}}}} \right){u_1} \Rightarrow \frac{{{u_1}}}{5} = \left( {\frac{{1 - x}}{{1 + x}}} \right){u_1}$
$\large 1 + x = 5\left( {1 - x} \right) \Rightarrow x = \frac{2}{3}kg$
