Solution

$G i v e n t h a t V_{1} = 20 m / s$
$\begin{array}{l} V_{2} = 40 m / s \\ ∴ acceleration a = \frac{V_{2} - V_{1}}{t} = \frac{40 - 20}{5} \\ = \frac{20}{5} \\ = 4 m / s^{2} \end{array}$
