A body starts from rest and acquires a velocity V in time T. The work done on the body in time t will be proportional to:

Solution

Work done on the body is equal to gain in the kinetic energy.
Acceleration of the body; a = $\frac{V}{T}$
Velocity acquired in time t: v = at = v = at = $\frac{V}{T} t$
Now KE acquired directly proportional to $v^{2}$
So work done directly proportional to $\frac{V^{2} t^{2}}{T^{2}}$
