Projection Under uniform Acceleration

Question

A body is thrown horizontally from the top of a tower of 5 m height. It touches the ground at a distance of 10 m from the foot of the tower. Then initial velocity of the body is

(g = 10 ms-2)

Moderate
Solution

R = u\sqrt {\frac{{2h}}{g}} \Rightarrow 10 = u\sqrt {\frac{{2 \times 5}}{{10}}} \Rightarrow u = 10m{s^{ - 1}}
