for 1cm distance
(u/2) ² -u ² =2 a s
-3u ²/4=2 a
a= -3u ² /8
0-u ²=2(-3u ²/8) s ₁
s ₁ =4/3
further distance is 4/3-1 = $\frac{1}{3}$
