A bus starts from rest with a constant acceleration of 5 m/ $s^{2}$ . At the same time a car travelling with a constant velocity 50 m/s. The bus overtakes and passes the car. How fast is the bus travelling when they are side by side?

Solution

$\large S_{car} = S_{bus} \;;\;50 \times t = \frac{1} {2} \times 5 \times t^2 \Rightarrow t = 20\sec$
v = u + at ⇒0 + 5 x 20 = 100m/s
