Question

A car passes along a curved path of a road according to figure moving with speed of 72 km h^-1, radius of curve is 10 m. If mass of the car is 500 kg, reaction force (in kN) on car at lowest point of curved part will be _______.

$a_{c} = \frac{v^{2}}{r} = {(\frac{72 \times 1000}{3600})}^{2} \times \frac{1}{10} = 40 {ms}^{- 2}$
$F_{c} = {ma}_{c} = (500 \times 40) = 20000 N = 20 kN$
$F_{g} = mg = (500 \times 10) = 5000 N = 5 kN$
Reaction force, $F = 20 kN + 5 kN = 25 kN$
