A car starts from rest and moves along a straight road with a uniform acceleration of $12 m / s^{2}$ . What is the distance travelled after a time of 6Sec from the start?

Solution

Given that
Initial velocity u=0
Acceleration $a = 12 m / s^{2}$
Time $t = 6 S$
$∴$ Distance travelled by the car
$\begin{matrix} S = u t + \frac{1}{2} a t^{2} \\ = 0 + \frac{1}{2} \times 12 \times 6^{2} \\ = 6 \times 6^{2} \\ = 216 m \end{matrix}$
