Solution

We have,
$\begin{matrix} I_{E} = I_{B} + I_{C} \\ Δ I_{E} = Δ I_{B} + Δ I_{C} \end{matrix}$
From the question, when $Δ I_{E} = 8.0 mA, Δ I_{C} = 7.9 mA$
Thus, $Δ I_{B} = 8.0 mA - 7.9 mA = 0.1 mA$

$β = \frac{I_{c}}{I_{B}} = \frac{Δ I_{C}}{Δ I_{B}} = \frac{7.9 mA}{0.1 mA} = 79$
