In the circuit element given here, if the potential at point B, i.e, V_B = 0, then the potentials of A and D ate given as

Solution

Potential difference between A and B,
$\begin{array}{l} V_{A} - V_{B} = 1 \times 1 .5 \\ \Rightarrow V_{A} - 0 = 1 .5 V \Rightarrow V_{A} = 1 .5 V \end{array}$
Potential difference between B and C,
$V_{B} - V_{C} = 1 \times 2 .5 = 2 .5 V \Rightarrow V_{C} = - 2 .5 V$
$V_{C} - V_{D} = 2 V - 2.5 - V_{D} = - 2 V V_{D} = - 0.5 V$
