The given network can be modified as shown in figure. Resistance of the middle branch
$\begin{array}{l} R^{'} = (\frac{8 \times 2}{8 + 2} + \frac{4 \times 6}{4 + 6}) Ω = 4 Ω \\ ∴ \frac{1}{R_{A B}} = \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{6} = \frac{4 + 3 + 2}{12} = \frac{3}{4} \Rightarrow R_{A B} = \frac{4}{3} Ω \end{array}$
