Solution

The voltage $V_{L}$ and $V_{C}$ are equal and opposite so voltmeter reading will be zero.
Also $R = 30 Ω, X_{L} = X_{C} = 25 Ω$
So $i = \frac{V}{\sqrt{R^{2} + {(X_{L} - X_{C})}^{2}}} = \frac{V}{R} = \frac{240}{30} = 8 A$
