In the circuit shown in figure, potential difference between point A and B is 16 V. Find the current passing through 2  Ω resistance.

Solution

By applying KVL,

VA4I9I1+34I=VB16=+8I+I1-68I+I1=10V              …..(i)

By applying KVL in loop A'B'C'D'A',

9I1+2II1=03I1+2I=9                        …..(ii)

By solving (i) and (ii) current in 2 Ω resistance is 3.5A.
