In series: Potential difference ∝ RWhen only S1 is closed , V1=34 E=0.75Ewhen only S2 is closed, V2=67 E=0.86E  and when both S1 and S2 are closed combined resistance of 6R and 3R is 2R.∴   V3=23 E=0.67E  ⇒ V2 > V1 >  V3
