Solution

$C o n s e r v i n g m o m e n t u m, 2 m V^{'} = m V \Rightarrow V^{'} = \frac{V}{2} . ∴ E n e r g y o f o s c i l l a t i o n = \frac{1}{2} (2 m) . {(\frac{V}{2})}^{2} = \frac{1}{4} m V^{2}$
