Solution

The diode is ideal and in the circuit, it is forward biased. Hence, the diode offers no resistance and current through 4 $Ω$ is zero.
$∴$ Reading of ammeter $= \frac{10}{3 \times 6 / (3 + 6)} A = 5 A$
