The net work done by fictional force when drum rolls down without slipping is zero. Therefore
$\begin{aligned} W_{net} = 0 \end{aligned}$
or , $\begin{array}{r} W_{trans} + W_{rot} = 0 \end{array}$
or, ${ΔK}_{trans} + {ΔK}_{rot} = 0$
${ΔK}_{trans} = - {ΔK}_{rot}$
Thus, the frictional force converts the translation energy to rotational energy
