Thermometry
Question

A Fahrenheat thermometer reads 1130F while a faulty celsius thermometer reads 440C. The correction to be applied to the celsius thermometer is

Easy
Solution

F = 1130F, C = 440C(faulty reading)
we have \large \frac {C}{5}=\frac {F-32}{9}\Rightarrow \frac {C}{5}=\frac {113-32} {9}
C = 450C (correct reading)
\large \therefore  correction = 45 - 44 = +10C
