Solution

$\begin{array}{l} \frac{1}{2} {Kx}^{2} - \frac{1}{2} {Ky}^{2} = μmg (x + y) \\ x^{2} - y^{2} = \frac{2 μmg (x + y)}{K} = 0 .4 \end{array}$
Also x + y = 8m = x - y = 0.05
So, x = 4.025m
