If image is of same size v=u then $\begin{array}{rcl} according to lens equation \\ \frac{1}{v} - \frac{1}{u} & = & \frac{1}{f} \\ for real object and virtual image of same size \\ - \frac{1}{v} - (- \frac{1}{u}) & = & \frac{1}{f} = 0 \\ so it always produce magnified virtual image . \end{array}$
