In the given circuit, the equivalent resistance between A and B (if A has positive potential and B has negative potential) is

Solution

$\to$ Current passes from A to C .
$\to$ So +Ve polarity reaches to N side of diode
$\to$ So diode is in Reverse bias
in between B & D there is no resistor
in between A & C there is no resistor
Diode is in Reverse bias
$R_{1}, R_{2}$ are in parallel
$R_{12} = \frac{R}{2}$
$R_{12}, R_{4}$ are in parallel
$R_{124} = \frac{R_{12} \times R_{4}}{R_{12} + R_{4}} = \frac{\frac{R}{2} \times R}{\frac{R}{2} + R} = \frac{\frac{R^{2}}{2}}{\frac{R + 2 R}{2}} = \frac{R^{2}}{3 R} = \frac{R}{3} Ω$
