If air resistance opposes the motion of a vertically projected body  then its time of ascent Ta and time  of descent Td then

while the body is going up along with gravitational force resistive force also opposes the motion hence the effective retardation increases time of ascend decreases where as while going  downward gravitational force support the motion where as the resistive force opposes the motion effective acceleration decreases time of descend increases.
