$V_{mean} = \sqrt{\frac{8 KT}{πm}}$
m is mass of 1 molecule
$V_{mean} = \propto \frac{1}{\sqrt{m}}$
$∴ \frac{{(V_{mean})}_{X}}{{(V_{mean})}_{H_{2}}} = \frac{\sqrt{m}}{\sqrt{4 m}} = \frac{1}{2}$
