A light ray enters a solid glass sphere of refractive index $μ = \sqrt{3}$ at an angle of incidence $60^{0}$ . The ray is both reflected and refracted at the farther surface of the sphere. The angle (in degrees) between the reflected and refracted rays at this surface is _______

Solution

At A: $1. \sin 60^{0} = \sqrt{3} \sin r$
$\Rightarrow r = 30^{0}$

At B: $\sqrt{3} . \sin r = 1. \sin i$
$\Rightarrow i = 60^{0}$
So angle between reflected ray & refracted ray at $B = 90^{0}$
