The magnetic flux $(ϕ)$ linked with a pure inductor varies with the current (i) flowing through it according to the graph shown in figure. If the current increases at a constant rate of 2 A/s, find the potential difference across the inductor.

Solution

$ϕ = L i \Rightarrow L = \frac{ϕ}{2} = \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} Henry$
$∴$ Induced potential difference
$= L \frac{d i}{d t} = \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \times 2 volt = \sqrt{3} volt$ .
