. By the law of conservation of momentum
$m_{1} V_{1} = m_{2} V_{2} or V_{2} = (\begin{array}{lll} m_{1} V_{1} / m_{2} \end{array}) ∴ V_{2} = \frac{0 \cdot 2 \times 5}{1} = 1 m / s$
