Solution

We know that, $v_{r} = \frac{l}{t}$
Now, $m (v_{r} - v) = Mv$ (v=speed of plank)
$∴$ $v = \frac{{mv}_{r}}{M + m} = \frac{l}{t} (\frac{m}{M + m})$
