Solution

Distance covered $= S = v_{av} \times time$
For first second: $S_{1} = 5 \times 1 = 5 m$
For second second: $S_{2} = 10 \times 1 = 10 m$
For third second: 5 $S_{3} = 15 \times 1 = 15 m$
Total distance travelled
$S = S_{1} + S_{2} + S_{3} = 5 + 10 + 15 = 30 m$
