An object is moving with velocity 10 ms^-1. A constant force acts for 4 s on the object and gives it a speed of 2 ms^-1in opposite direction. The acceleration produced is

Solution

Given, v = - 2 ms^-1 (opposite direction),
t = 4 s and u =10 ms^-1
$∴$ v = u + at or - 2 =10 + 4a or a = - 3 ms^-2
